Why We Built A Different Kind Of Firm

A Different Kind Of Compassionate Law Firm

At LEEP LAW GROUP, our story begins with a shared commitment to doing law differently. Founding partners Tara Wood and Christine Venezia built this firm around a simple idea: clients deserve more than paperwork and formalities. They deserve support from people who understand how overwhelming loss, aging, and planning for the future can feel. That understanding shapes the tone of every conversation and the way we guide families through estate planning, elder law, and probate.

Christine’s personal experience is central to this approach. She lost her father at 21, had no lawyers in her family, and remembers feeling completely lost at a time when she needed clear guidance most. That season in her life still informs the way she listens to clients who are grieving or unsure where to start. It is one of the reasons she and Tara feel a deep connection to the families who trust LEEP LAW GROUP with their most important decisions.

As Christine shares in the video,

“I lost my dad when I was 21. I did not have lawyers in my family. I was completely lost. So I have a personal investment in those cases because I know what they’re going through.”

This kind of lived experience helps our team relate to clients on a human level, not just a legal one. We recognize that when someone reaches out to us, they may be carrying fresh grief, long-term worry, or anxiety about the future. By acknowledging those emotions and taking the time to understand each person’s story, we can offer guidance that feels grounded, steady, and genuinely caring. That is the heart behind how we approach every matter at LEEP LAW GROUP.

Before starting LEEP LAW GROUP, Christine worked at other law firms and saw firsthand how a practice reflects the choices of its owners. She wanted to build something she and Tara could shape around compassion, clarity, and meaningful client relationships. Rather than focusing on volume or routine processes, they set out to create a place where families feel seen and heard. That intention shows up in how we design our processes, communicate with clients, and measure our own success.

Christine explains this vision in the video when she says,

“I wanted to kind of be an outlier and have a more compassionate approach where we’re not pushing paper. We’re ultimately really helping people.”

This mindset influences everything from how we prepare for meetings to how we explain options and next steps. We spend time listening before we recommend a path forward, and we discuss choices in plain language so families can make decisions with confidence. Instead of treating legal matters as distant or purely technical, we focus on how each decision will affect real lives and relationships. That focus helps us design practical strategies that reflect each client’s values and long-term goals.

The atmosphere of our office also reflects this vision. When you walk into LEEP LAW GROUP, you will not find a stiff, formal environment or a row of suits behind a desk. Our team strives to create a space that feels welcoming and relaxed, because we know many people arrive feeling anxious about what comes next. By easing that tension, we make it easier to talk openly about difficult topics like incapacity, long-term care, or the loss of a loved one.

As Christine notes,

“When you walk in, we are not stuffy. Our team is just very welcoming. We’re very warm. It’s just a very inviting atmosphere. And I really think that helps our clients bring down their defenses.”

When defenses come down, real conversations can begin. In that kind of environment, clients feel safer asking questions, sharing family dynamics, and discussing private concerns that might affect their planning. That honesty, in turn, helps us build plans that truly match their circumstances rather than forcing them into a template. The result is a working relationship built on trust, empathy, and steady guidance.

This video offers a glimpse into why Tara and Christine formed LEEP LAW GROUP the way they did and how their personal histories shape the way we care for our clients. If you prefer reading to watching, we hope this overview gives you a sense of who we are and what matters to us. When you are ready to talk about your own planning, our team is here to listen and help you take the next step in a way that feels thoughtful and supported.
